My story

The Journey

It started with a Pokémon choice.

In the car on the way home, my dad asked which instrument I wanted for Christmas: piano, guitar or drums. It felt like picking my first Pokémon. I picked guitar.

I love creating unique experiences. Every new production is a chance to explore something new, or to take something I've made before even further. From film to music to podcasts, I've worked on all kinds of productions, and I bring that range to every project. Quality that stands out, made to be seen.

The musician

One guitar turned into a whole collection. Every instrument came with its own story.

  1. 01

    Guitar

My first one. I taught myself up to intermediate level.

  2. 02

    Piano

    It came the Christmas after.

  3. 03

    Bass

I picked it up when I had to play bass for the band Jetlag.

  4. 04

    Vocals

Inspired by metal vocals and unique styles like Mongolian throat singing, I took lessons with Dawn Dumez. Through speech therapy I found out I have a 3-octave vocal range.

  5. 05

    Violin

I tried one in a music store in Amsterdam, and it inspired me.

  6. 06

    Hand whistling

In New Zealand I had no instruments with me, so I taught myself to whistle like a bird with my hands.

  7. 07

    Hawaiian guitar

I got it from my uncle when he couldn't play anymore.

  8. And counting...

Every new instrument broadens how I can express myself.

I love sharing what I learn.

From covers to content

I started filming my guitar covers and editing them in Clipchamp. Then I began producing music, first in FL Studio, later in Ableton.

When podcast clips were booming, I started a podcast clips channel. My very first video in Premiere Pro became a hit.

My first edit in Premiere Pro

  1. The goal

Take one strong moment from a podcast and see how I could turn it into something unique.

  2. What I made

A short edit that uses paintings as visuals to tell the story and take viewers on a journey.

  3. The result

Chris Williamson shared it on Instagram. It got 19.3K views on his share and 4.7K on YouTube, and it gave my channel a real boost.

My biggest video

  1. The goal

Reach new people while everyone was talking about Dr Huberman.

  2. What I made

A short podcast edit with fast cuts, head tracking and paintings as b-roll. I put it out while the topic was still hot.

  3. The result

83.6K views, my most-viewed video so far. Right content, right moment.

The turning point

At one point I ran four channels: sport (vlogs, martial arts and running), philosophy, music and podcast clips. That was more than I could keep up with, so I chose music. It challenged me the most.

  • Sport
  • Philosophy
  • Music
  • Podcast clips

In that time my editing and design skills really took off. I made TikTok filters and drew the assets in Illustrator, because I wanted to make as much as possible myself. Photography taught me Lightroom and Photoshop, and my colour correction went to a new level.

My first time using 3D transitions.

Made with

Premiere Pro
I cut the story.
After Effects
I add the magic.
Media Encoder
I ship it.
Photoshop
I shape the look.
Illustrator
I draw the assets.
Lightroom
I grade the colour.
Ableton Live
I make the sound.
Effect House
I build the filters.
Claude Code
I built this site.

So I keep making.

Film school

Then I got the chance to study film production at AUT in Auckland, Aotearoa New Zealand.

  1. 01Creative practice
  2. 02Film production
  3. 03Story Lab (scriptwriting)
  4. 04Podcasting
The Peters Theory Podcast #1, made for my podcasting class.

Now

Back home, I'm going full power. I make lots of productions, and I love sharing what I learn along the way. My latest one: a piece of fantasy film music, written in under 60 seconds.

What I'm most proud of: I can express myself in more and more mediums. I don't want to be put in a box. That's why it's Paradoxfield Productions.

What I make now

That's the journey.

So far, anyway. Shall we make the next part together?
